There are several things you CAN do to avoid email spam.

If you have a website:

NEVER hard code your email name in the HTML – this is perfect for spammers to gather from your webpage. You can avoid this by creating an online Form for visitors to fill in, rather than to click a mailto: link.

Some people prefer to write their email name like this on their sites: myname at domainname dot com

This also avoids being harvested by spammers.

In your email software

The spammers are clever – they change their tactics constantly, but this help you filter the most common into a Trash folder.
