“Keywords meta tag? No.” says Matt Cutts

Google says, “For more information, please see the our blog post: http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com

In this video, Matt Cutts explains that, “Google does not use the keywords meta tag in web ranking”. This is true, but there are hundreds of other search engines, some of which might still use the Keywords Meta Tags. So do I.

The way I see it is that if anyone else on the planet uses search engines other than Google (and there are plenty of local search engines as well as other more global well-known ones) then they potentially DO use the keywords meta tag. This could be for many varying reasons, none of which I need to know about right now. The point is, it keeps ME focussed when I add Keywords to the Meta Tags when I write blog posts and websites pages, and that’s another good reason to use them.

I’ve got a burning question I hope you’ll answer … What about you, do you use the kewords meta tag when you write online?
