This morning I typed in a search request at Google.com, and what a shock I received – a message saying Google’s sorry, but it looks like something fishy is going on with my IP. Here’s the message:

google no search msg Google search and were sorry

Hmmmm that didn’t look good, especially as I hadn’t used the computer for about 12 hours.

I clicked the Google Help link and read their page on why this might have occurred, and how to solve it.

I’m using a Mac so I followed the one link for MacScan to download software to check my computer for tracking cookes or other nasties.

The scan’s being going for about 10 minutes, so as soon as it’s done, I’ll update this post. So far 1 ‘tracking cookie’ has been detected.

Amazing how many things we have to do to protect our computers and data, online and off.

Interestingly, I can access Google.com.au (Australia) with no problem, but not Google.com

Ciao for now,
Teena
