I just received an email from Onlywire:

Dear Username,

With now over 50+ services supported and rock solid performance, OnlyWire has become the leading content distribution tool on the market.

We are excited to announce on December 1, 2011 all Free users will automatically be converted to a Free Trial of OnlyWire Pro. This Free Trial includes 300 submissions and all the great features and tools our premium users have grown to love. Therefore, effective December 1, 2011 our OnlyWire Free plan is being replaced by the new OnlyWire Pro Free Trial.

OnlyWire Pro includes two of our most popular tools Captcha Solver and OnlyWire Analytics. These tools block any annoying Captcha “pop-ups” you previously encountered under the Free plan. There is no need to worry about Captcha any longer – with Captcha Solver our team completes the Captcha for you. (what is Captcha?)

After you have used your 300 submissions, you can continue to enjoy all the benefits of OnlyWire by upgrading to one of our affordable premium accounts. To learn more about our plans, click here.

We hope you enjoy your Free OnlyWire Pro Trial…..

Regards,

The OnlyWire Team

Wow.
Only seven days of notice.

After being moved into a Pro account, users will now have a total of 300 mentions being sent out before they have to start paying monthly.

Onlywire has decided to move to a “no-more-free-submissions” and a “paid” model, like so many other companies.

Unfortunately their asking price is a bit hefty – for one domain it’s $US10/month (without the Captcha solver) or $US13/with.

For people with more than one website or blog, they either pay $13/month each, or come up with a very large sum of $US99/month – just for a social media distribution service.

There are many other ways to distribute your message, and it’s time to look at those.

Hootsuite’s one which comes to mind with a very generous distribution portal for a small monthly fee – where you can manage more than one website or blog, and unlimited social profiles for $US5.99/month.

Up until today Onlywire’s been a great solution for thousands of small business owners and bloggers. some people might only send out two blog posts a month and may choose to only send those to 20 sites, so that will now cost them $13/month – at least it will take a while before the 300 submissions are used up icon smile Onlywire gives 7 days notice that it is shutting down all free accounts
